Key

Unicore

An astonishing process, bonding rope

sheath and core without affecting the rope's

suppleness.

Even in the hardest conditions of use sheath

slippage is

suppressed.If

the sheath is cut or torn,

core and sheath remain bonded together. With a

standard rope, if the sheath is cut by abrasion over

an edge, a frequent occurrence in work at height

and in rescues, it slides and gathers over some

metres. It then becomes impossible to pass this

zone, either to ascend or to descend. If the problem

occurs near to the end of the rope the sheath may

slide off completely, and the user fall to the ground.

With the UNICORE process the sheath remains in

place and the user may escape, either by descent or

ascent, taking all necessary precautions.

He/she is not stuck without a solution on the rope.

The UNICORE process brings an undeniable gain in

security during delicate and dangerous operations.

AQUA-Flex

Edelweiss AQUA-Flex ropes conception

is really different from the competition. The

rope cover sheath uses a combination of the

performance of Polyamide and Polyester. the

benefits are better abrasion resistance and

a shrinkage in water divided by 3. Edelweiss

AQUA-Flex ropes remain flexible and manageable

throughout their lifetime.

Perform 3

Edelweiss, thanks to years of

experience in designing products dedicated to

verticality, presents its exclusive rope construction:

perform

3

.

This development applied to a wide range of dynamic

ropes provides the following benefits:

1.

improved flexibility = increased comfort.

2.

improved energy absorption = increased safety.

3.

weight reduction = increased performance.

HD Cover

HD Cover is a technology

through which, each cover thread is individually

controlled, as opposed to standard braiding where

the threads are controlled by pairs.

With this High Definition braiding and although

the thickness of the sheath remains the same,

the rope surface is much smoother than with a

standard braiding, the rope doesn’t generate extra

braking in belay systems and actions become more

comfortable; another positive consequence, the

wear due to abrasion is also reduced and the rope

lifetime accordingly extended.

O-Flex

The O-Flex process created and

used by Edelweiss to build its indoor ropes consists

in an innovative braiding system and a single

perfectly round core element. It creates a round

and incredibly flexible rope. This indoor rope will

keep its flexibility and perfect cohesion throughout

its life. Tests have shown that on artificial climbing

structure the O-flex process multiplies by 2 to 3 the

rope life span.

checking and improved safety

Everdry

Everdry has been our first dry

treatment on ropes, developed in 1971. The Everdry

treatment is applied to all fibres of the sheath to

limit the consequences of humidity, rain or ice on

the rope: heaviness and stiffening of the rope are

substantially reduced by Everdry.

Supereverdry

UIAA Water Repellent

Historically Edelweiss was the first climbing rope maker

to apply a SUPEREVERDRY treatment to its ropes. This

treatment is applied to all fibres in the core and the

sheath; the benefits are self- evident: in wet conditions

the rope stays lighter, doesn’t tend to stiffen due to

freezing and dries quicker.

All the Edelweiss

supereverdry

treated ropes exceed

with success the new

uiaa water

repellent

standard. To

succeed this test performed in certified laboratory, the

rope after exposure to a severe water flowmust absorb

less than 5% of its weight. The results obtained by the

supereverdry

treated ropes are 0.8 to 1.4% (average 1.1%)

which has to be compared to the 40-50% absorbed by

the non-treated ropes. Howmany other hydrophobic

treatments can claim such perfect results?

Sharp Edge Resistant

Edelweiss was the first climbing rope

maker to bring Sharp Edge Resistant ropes. These

ropes are able to resist a factor two fall on a sharp

edge of 0,75mm radius. This is one major safety

element. On the rock, you might find sharper

edges, always keep your rope protected.
